"Appetizers: we did the pick 3 (fried mushrooms, hot wings and mozzarella). The mushrooms were big and juicy (not dry at all). Hot wings were crispy and mozzarella sticks were fine, but nothing to write home about. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious - juicy chicken and the bun went really well with it. The fried cabbage had great flavor as well (I think aside from that, we'd order other sides next time after trying the other sides we had.) I think I was a little surprised the batter came off as soon as I started cutting into the chicken fried chicken (usually not a fan of gravy, but Railhead Cafe's gravy was quite good!), but my son still really enjoyed it. And as for the steak, we'll pass next time to try something else. It was nice to try Railhead Cafe on our road trip and good to know it's quite close to the highway, so you can opt out of your usual fast food if you want something homier."

"Started with sweet tea which was on point if you know you know. Had fried pickle spears and fried boudin balls they did not disappoint, they were great. It being cold today I went ahead got a bowl of chili after the waitress said it was award winning at several chili cookoffs as well was great spiciness was just right has chunks tomato but not big. My girlfriend has chicken fried steak garlic mash potatoes and green beans with a roll and honey butter. She as well said everything was delicious. Definitely wouldn't mind going back here."

"The portions here are gigantic, truly about three servings of food. It's not a large place and has a distinctive railroad decor, serving a variety of comfort food, burgers, and steaks on the menu. We were there during the after-church rush, and while the two servers worked very, very hard at making sure everyone was taken care of, there really should have been three servers, but that is on management not on them. So service was slow but they were doing their best. I have to say the food was all really delicious. My husband's deep fried pork chop was fantastic, and the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes (NOT instant) were tasty. The best, though, was the zucchini and yellow squash appetizer ... Very fresh and yummy."

"I was in town so I looked up reviews for restaurants and stumbled upon this gem! The food was very delicious. We had burgers that actually filled my son's appetite! The onion ring were the best I've had in a long time!! Will definitely be back!"

"100/10 RECOMMEND- My Fiance and I decided to try this place out today we are so burnt out on fast food and wanting a good meal to fill us up. Well folks this is the best I've had since moving to Atascosa ! My mouth is still watering from the food and my tummy is still full. The staff are very welcoming and Friendly! I fell in love with the cheese from the Mac/Pasta ! The flavor was out of this world ! Chicken Fried Chicken was so delicious with the gravy and my fiance loved the grilled pork chops !overall the food was fresh and worth the wait!!! We will be back (:"

"We had lunch here. She had the chicken fried chicken and he had the blackened chicken breast. The main meals were very delicious! We loved the garlic mashed potatoes, too... just the right hint I garlic for us. We topped the meal off with some coconut cream pie, and it was so delicious! Friendly staff, good prices... we would definitely come back."

"Food was exceptional and the waitress OMG she was heaven sent awesome!!!! This is definitely a place my son and I will become regulars at now. I got the chicken fried steak which was so tender and flavorful. Great atmosphere as well."
